Toccoa Rookie League Softball Takes Third

The Toccoa Rookie League Softball All-Stars take third place in the state.

Toccoa’s Rookie League softballers played in the state tournament this past weekend in Warner Robins.

In their first game, the Toccoa All-Stars fell to Western Little League of Macon by a score of 5-3.

However, Toccoa fought back on Saturday, winning their first game over Warner Robins Little League 14-11.

Toccoa was then eliminated from the tournament in a close game against District Rival Hart County, losing 10-9.

Western Little League then won the state title, defeating Hart County in the finals by a score of 19-10.

Little League District tournament play for other divisions gets underway this weekend.

Starting play this weekend are 9 and 10 year old softball and Little League softball tournaments in Lavonia and 9 and 10 year old and 10 and 11 year old baseball tournaments in Hartwell.

Other district tournaments start next week.
