Toccoa Rookie League Softball Finishes 2nd in State

The Toccoa Rookie League Softball All-Stars finish second in the state of Georgia.

Toccoa came up just a little short in its bid for a state championship in Sunday in Rookie League Softball, falling to Warner Robins 13-9 in the championship game in Warner Robins.

Toccoa went 2-2 in the tournament overall to take second place.

In its first game on Saturday morning, Toccoa beat Western Little League.

Then on Saturday, Toccoa lost a one-run game to Warner Robins.

Facing Oconee Little League Sunday morning for the right to play Warner Robins in the finals, Toccoa pulled out a nail-biter in extra innings to advance, beating Oconee in eight innings and setting up the championship game.

For the All-Star season, the Toccoa Rookie League softball team won both the District 7 and Northeast Sectional tournaments, going undefeated in both of those tournaments.

Their overall record was 8-2.
