Toccoa Rookie League Baseball Loses Twice At Sectionals

The season comes to a close for the Toccoa Rookie League Baseball All-Stars.

The Toccoa Rookie League Baseball team finished its season in the Northeast Georgia sectional tournament this past week in Athens.

Toccoa, who finished second in the district tournament to qualify for sectionals, lost its two games in the double-elimination tournament.

In its first game, Toccoa lost to Newton National 11-1.

Then, Habersham defeated Toccoa in the second game 10-0.

Newton National went on to win the sectional tournament by defeating Washington-Wilkes 8-5 in the championship game.

That means Newton National is moving on to the state Rookie League tournament this weekend in Warner Robins.
