Toccoa Pool Project Out To Bid

The city of Toccoa said Monday the Doyle Street Pool project continues to move forward.

Toccoa City Manager Billy Morse updated commissioners at their meeting on Monday.

Morse said that the major work is now out to bid.

According to Morse, the pool itself went out to bid first and on Monday, the pool house and bathroom went out to bid.

Toccoa City Commissioners unanimously approved a construction schedule of activities for the Doyle Street Pool at their meeting two weeks ago.

Under that schedule, the city will open bids on the pool and pool building next month.

In the meantime, city workers will do the necessary demolition work at the current pool to allow construction to then begin.

During the spring, the city manager will then solicit proposals for pool site improvements like fencing, parking, and lighting.

City officials said the goal is to have the Doyle Street Pool open for business this summer.

Toccoa is paying for the pool renovations through SPLOST VI.
