Toccoa Police use a new piece of technology to locate an alleged stolen vehicle from the metro Atlanta area.

The police department said an officer was using the department’s License Plate Recognition system last month when it located a Georgia license plate on a silver Nissan Altima and it came back identified as stolen.

Police said the vehicle was reported stolen out of Gwinnett County.

According to the police report, the officer initiated a traffic stop on Big A Road and arrested two people, Vanessa Allen and Ernest Allen, ages and addresses unlisted, for Theft By Receiving Stolen Property.

Toccoa Police also notified Gwinnett County investigators of the traffic stop and arrests.
