Toccoa Police Investigating Armed Robbery

Toccoa Police are investigating an armed robbery in the city limits earlier this week.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell, it happened just before 11 p.m. on Monday at the Quik Mart convenience store at the intersection of Highways 106 and 145.

Jarrell said the clerk called 911 to report an armed robbery.

The chief said that once police arrived, they were able to obtain video of the incident.

“We were able to see what we believe to be two black males in the store coming from the side,” said Jarrell. “One of the suspects pointed a pistol at the clerk and demanded money. She was then forced to the floor and an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the store, along with some store items. The video showed both suspects left the business through the front door and no vehicle was seen.”

The clerk was not injured.

Jarrell said both people in the video were wearing black hoodies and bandannas

He went on to say that his office is seeking assistance from the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Jarrell, the suspects in a recent home invasion the Sheriff’s Office is investigating on Brady Street are similar in description to the suspects in the armed robbery.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said that investigators from his office were following up on leads this week in connection to that home invasion.
