Toccoa PD Arrests Two After Traffic Stop

March 13, 2014

Two Franklin County men face drug charges in Stephens County after a traffic stop last week.

Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell said that Officer Erick Carter stopped a 1997 Honda Accord on Currahee Street near its intersection with Big A Road last Friday evening.

Jarrell said the traffic stop resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old Christopher M. Carson of Lavonia and 22-year-old Daniel Crawford Wright of Carnesville.

He said both men were arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute.

In addition, Jarrell said Carson was charged with an Equipment Violation and Wright was charged with Giving a False Name to officers.

Jarrell went on to say that authorities investigated further and discovered Wright was also wanted for an outstanding warrant out of StephensCounty for Statutory Rape.
