The city of Toccoa has named a new Deputy Director of Finance.
At Monday’s Toccoa City Commission meeting, Toccoa City Manager Mike Jackson announced that Becky Bohannon had taken that position and started last week.
Bohannon was formerly with Stephens Federal Bank.
Jackson says the city is happy to have Bohannon on board.
Meanwhile, during the city’s monthly financial report Monday, Toccoa Finance Director Cathy Loudermilk stated some mixed news for the city.
She did report that the city was currently seeing a net loss for the year to date of almost $500,000, with most of that coming in the general fund. The city has received only 17 percent of its projected general fund revenue for the fiscal year ¼ of the way into Fiscal Year 2013, as of September 30, and had spent 24 percent of projected expenditures for the fiscal year. Both of those are under the 25 percent target for the three-month point of the fiscal year.
Loudermilk did note that the city saw an increase in Local Option Sales Tax revenue when compared to September 2011. The $107,712 received last month in LOST revenue is 7.42 percent higher than the $100,269 received in September 2011.
