Toccoa Man Arrested for Shoplifting in S.C.

Alejandro Rodrigues ShropshireAuthorities in South Carolina say a Toccoa man faces shoplifting charges there after an incident over the Christmas holiday.

The Oconee County, South Carolina Sheriff’s Office said 42-year-old Alejandro Rodrigues Shropshire of Doyle Street in Toccoa was arrested on Christmas Eve night and charged with Shoplifting.

According to Oconee County authorities, deputies there were dispatched to the Belk’s location in Seneca in regards to a shoplifting report.

Authorities said a deputy was given a description of the individual in question regarding the shoplifting and the deputy saw the individual matching that description walking along Highway 123.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said a store employee positively identified Shropshire as the suspect.

Shropshire is accused of shoplifting more than $950 in items from the store.

He was released from the Oconee County, South Carolina Detention Center on Christmas Day on a bond of $2,130.
