Toccoa Looking At Street Re-surfacing
The city of Toccoa is getting together a list of more streets to try and re-surface this year.
City commissioners and staff discussed street resurfacing at a work session back on May 20.
Toccoa City Manager Billy Morse said that Toccoa has about $1.1 million left in SPLOST V money designated for road work and is planning to use most of that this summer to re-surface a number of streets.
Morse said that staff went over a proposed list of streets with city commissioners at the May 20 work session and commissioners provided their input.
“As part of that process, we gave them a master inventory list of all the roads in the city of Toccoa that we are responsible for,” said Morse. “They are graded from poor to excellent and what the commission has asked us to do is take as many of the poor condition roads (as possible) and put them on this list and they will consider it at their next meeting on June 9th.”
Morse said this list of streets would be in addition to a list already approved earlier this year that includes Fern Valley Drive, Fern Valley Circle, Wesley Drive, Beaverbrook Circle, Foxdale Drive, Foxdale Circle, Foxdale Court, and Crestwood Drive.
He said if approved by commissioners, all of the streets on both lists could be bid out at the same time and re-surfaced during this paving season in order to be done by the Fall.
