The Toccoa 9 and 10 year old baseball All-Stars will be back in action tonight looking to earn another crack at Hart County.
Tuesday, Toccoa lost to Hart 11-1 in four innings in a District 9-10 baseball tournament winner’s bracket game in Hartwell.
Toccoa jumped out on top 1-0 in the bottom of the first, when Casey’s Pro Tire Player of the Game Patrick Murray singled home Carson Worley.
However, Hart came back with three runs in the top of the second to take the lead.
Then in the top of third, Hart sent 12 men to the plate and scored eight runs to pull away.
With the loss, Toccoa drops into the elimination bracket and will play again tonight against Franklin County in Hartwell. The winner will play Hart for the championship.
In other Little League action, the Toccoa 11-12 softball came from behind to beat Madison 12-11 in 7 innings in Lavonia.
The win sends Toccoa to the championship round against Hart. Toccoa must beat Hart twice.
Meanwhile, the Toccoa 10-11 baseball team will play Franklin for the district title in Hartwell after Franklin beat Madison last night. Toccoa must only beat Franklin once.
Tonight, Toccoa’s Junior League baseball team gets into play at the Doyle Street Park against Franklin, who beat Madison last night.
That game starts at 6 p.m. tonight and is our broadcast game this evening.
