Toccoa Jr. League Baseball Stays Alive

July 4, 2014

The Toccoa Junior League All-Stars stay alive in the district tournament at the Doyle Street Park.

Toccoa sent 15 men to the plate in the first inning and scored 11 runs on the way to a 15-1 victory over the Habersham All-Stars on Thursday in five innings.

Ty Keller and Gabe White each had three RBIs for Toccoa, while Ben Hobbs and Dawson Sorrells each contributed three hits.

Sorrells, Hobbs, and Jordan Page also combined on the mound to limit Habersham to one hit over the five innings.

With the win, Toccoa eliminated Habersham and will move on to face Madison, who defeated Rabun 18-4, on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Toccoa.

AM 630 WNEG will resume Little League All-Star coverage on Saturday with a triple header from the Doyle Street Park.

First at 11 a.m., the Toccoa 11 and 12 year old Baseball All-Stars will face Hart in the opening game of that tournament.

Following that, we will have Junior League baseball between Toccoa and Madison.

Our third game is Senior League baseball between Toccoa and Habersham, also from the Doyle Street Park.
