An annual Halloween tradition returns to downtown Toccoa today.
The annual Children’s Costume Parade will take place along Doyle Street later this morning.
The parade gets started at 10 a.m., but children begin lining up earlier than that.
Toccoa Main Street Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby said this year’s parade will follow the same route as in past years.
Starting at Doyle and Alexander, it will move down Doyle Street to almost Hill Street, before crossing the street and returning to the corner of Sage and Doyle, said Crosby.
Crosby said that they will have refreshments at the end of the parade route for the children.
Also, once the parade is complete, the judges will announce the winning costumes.
Crosby said that they are looking forward to a great day and a lot of clever costumes.
“Every year, it just seems like the moms try to outdo themselves because the costumes are just so creative,” said Crosby. “Everyone enjoys getting the candy as well.”
AM 630 WNEG will provide live reports from the Costume Parade later this morning.
