Toccoa Fire Crews Respond To Two Calls on Sunday

Nobody was hurt in two weekend fires in Toccoa.

Fire Chief Tommy Ayers said city fire crews responded to two fires on Sunday in Toccoa.

Ayers said the first one occurred at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday on Collins Road.

He said the fire caused heavy damage to the house, but there were no injuries as everyone got out safely.

According to Ayers, the official cause of that fire is undetermined at this time.

Meanwhile, Ayers said crews then responded to an apartment on Pageland Drive for a second fire call at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Ayers said that fire was contained to the kitchen of one unit, which did sustain heavy damage.

However, nobody was hurt as again everybody got out safely.

Ayers said the cause of the second fire was electrical in nature.
