Toccoa Cuts Ribbon On Golf Course Today

It’s a big day today as the city of Toccoa officially unveils “The Links at Lake Toccoa.”

The grand opening for the course is today after a year of work by the city to return the course to use after it closed late last summer.

Today’s grand opening festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a ceremony to officially retire an old 48-star flag found at the pro shop, followed by the raising of a new flag.

Following that will be the Chamber ribbon cutting and the ceremonial tee shots to open the course.

That evening, the Chamber will have a “Business After Hours” in the pro shop from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Refreshments will be served and the public is invited.

Also today, North Georgia Technical College will mark the 10th anniversary of the Currahee Campus today with a public reception.

That reception is from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Currahee Campus, which is located on Georgia Highway 17 in Stephens County between Toccoa and Martin.
