Toccoa Commission To Meet Today

The Toccoa City Commission will meet later today for both a work session and a regular meeting.

First, city commissioners will meet at 3 p.m. for a work session at Toccoa City Hall.

Commissioners are scheduled to discuss a host of topics at their work session later today.

Among the items up for discussion is the utilization of Alewine Park.

At a previous work session, city commissioners received requests from both the Evan Oglesby Foundation and Toccoa Little League to use at least part of Alewine Park that is not currently being used by a local soccer group.

The agreement with that soccer group is also expiring and up for renewal and is under discussion.

Also during today’s work session, the city commission is set to discuss the agreement for the Doyle Street Pool with Camp Fire.

Following its 3 p.m. work session, the Toccoa City Commission will then move into its regular meeting at 5 p.m., also at Toccoa City Hall.

During the regular meeting, commissioners are scheduled to consider the lease agreement for the historic train depot and receive the monthly financial report.

Today’s 5 p.m. Toccoa City Commission meeting also allows time for public comment.
