Toccoa City Commission To Meet Today

Road related issues are at the top of the agenda today for the Toccoa City Commission.

Toccoa City Commissioners will meet at 5 p.m. today for a regular meeting at Toccoa City Hall.

Only one item is on the business meeting agenda for the city commission.

That is discussion of LMIG for Off-System Safety Program.

Earlier this year, Toccoa City Commissioners voted to apply for additional state money for road safety projects.

The city has since received word on how much it will receive in funding from the state for that project and have found out it is less than what the city requested, so city officials say that an adjustment to the project list must be made.

City Commissioners are also scheduled to discuss this matter at a work session prior to today’s 5 p.m. business meeting.

That work session will start at 4 p.m. and it will also take place at Toccoa City Hall.

Another road-related item on that work session agenda is for the city to discuss LMIG recommendations for the year 2017.

LMIG is money that the state gives to local governments for road projects.

Today’s 4 p.m. work session and 5 p.m. business meeting are open to the public.
