TFC Names Shelton As Provost

Toccoa Falls College names a long-time administrator to a new position at the college.

The school has named Dr. Brian Shelton as Provost of the college.

According to Toccoa Falls College, this new position is a senior academic administrator with responsibilities beyond the traditional academic sphere.

TFC says that in his new role, Dr. Shelton will oversee the launch of a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing program targeted for January 2017.

Also, the school says he will also prepare the college to evaluate the prospect of new graduate programs and will continue to identify new majors to service the growing career interests of traditional and non-traditional students.

Dr. Shelton has served five years as Vice President for Academic Affairs and fifteen years as Professor of Theology and Church History at TFC.

In his administrative role, he has overseen fifty faculty members and thirty-three majors and concentrations as academic dean.

Along with that, he has supervised an online program that grew from 30 students to over 150 online students this fall.

Toccoa Falls College President Dr. Robert Myers says that as the college looks to the future, he is excited about the leadership Dr. Shelton brings to the position of Provost, adding that he feels that a provost will help us solidify the internal structure needed to accomplish our mission.
