TFC Goes 2-2 in NCCAA Baseball World Series
The Toccoa Falls College baseball team was eliminated in pool play at the recently held NCCAA World Series.
TFC went 2-2 during the tournament’s pool play segment.
In their first game, TFC upset Lee University 6-1 behind a complete game three-hitter from senior pitcher Dylan Charles.
Charles struck out five and walked three in going the distance for the Eagles.
Day Two of the tournament did not go as well for TFC.
The Eagles lost to Trevecca Nazarene University 3-2 and Cedarville University 12-2 in their two games on the tournament’s second day.
Seniors Josh Ward and Jordan Couillard each had two hits for TFC against Trevecca.
Meanwhile, Ward and Ronnie Stewart each had RBI’s for the Eagles in their game against Cedarville.
TFC wrapped up the tournament with a 16-2 win over Lancaster Bible College.
Justin Key had three hits, two RBI’s, and two runs scored in the Eagles’ finale, while Ronnie Stewart had two triples and four RBI’s, and AJ Mussler added three hits and two RBI’s for TFC.
The Eagles finished the season with a school record 35 wins, going 35-18 overall.
This year breaks a string of three straight championships for the TFC baseball team.
However, this was the first year of a new format for the NCCAA baseball tournament which combined what used to be Divisions One and Two into a single division.
