TFC Fall Sports Continue

Fall sports are continuing at Toccoa Falls College.

Despite a monsoon of rain last week Toccoa Falls athletics enjoyed its most successful week of the fall semester.

While women’s soccer had its match rained out, cross country, men’s soccer, and volleyball experienced success in all competitions.

The cross country teams ran against Piedmont College on October 3rd at hilly Tallulah Falls School.  Ian Caudill led the men’s 8k with a time of 33:01, taking 17 seconds off his previous best.  Meanwhile,  Katie Zimmerman was tops for the Screaming Eagles on the women’s side with a 30:15, a time that took 67 seconds off her 6k time.

Elsewhere, the nationally ranked TFC volleyball program was victorious at Crown College by a score of three sets to one and and Hiwassee College in straight sets last week.

Seventh ranked Toccoa Falls will host Crown College on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. as part of the Homecoming activities.

Moving to men’s soccer, Toccoa Falls College topped Johnson University of Tennessee 2-0 in a soggy match played on October 2 at Boyd Field in Toccoa.

Next up, the Screaming Eagles will host Bob Jones University for Homecoming on Friday at 7 p.m., while the annual alumni match will be played at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Finally, women’s soccer’s lone match of the week was scheduled to be played at Bob Jones University on Friday, but was rained out.  Toccoa Falls, ranked second in the country, will host Johnson University of Tennessee on Friday at 5:00 p.m. in game one of the Homecoming doubleheader.  Then on Saturday, Johnson University of Florida will travel to Toccoa, also at 5:00 p.m.
