TFC Baseball Headed to World Series

The Toccoa Falls College baseball team will make its seventh straight NCCAA College World Series tournament appearance later this month.

Monday, the school announced that the selection committee again chose the Screaming Eagles to attend the 2015 tournament in Mason, Ohio that begins Wednesday.

TFC has made the NCCAA World Series every year since 2009.

This year, the 26-21 Screaming Eagles have been selected as the eighth seed in the ten-team tournament.

As was done last year, the format of the NCCAA World Series will be round robin pool play with a single elimination semifinals for the top two teams from each pool.

Other teams in TFC’s pool include defending national champions and top-seeded Fresno Pacific, Central Baptist College, Bluefield College, and Palm Beach Atlantic.

TFC begins pool play on Wednesday at 2 p.m., then has games on Thursday at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and Friday at 11 a.m.

If TFC makes one of the top two spots in its pool, it would play in the semi-finals on Friday.

The championship is set for Saturday.

The seven straight World Series appearances for Toccoa Falls marks the longest such streak in the NCCAA.

Toccoa Falls College won World Series championships in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013, while finishing second in 2010.
