An event this week will satisfy sweet tooths while also helping a good cause.
The “Sugar Rush” gourmet challenge takes place Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Currahee Campus of North Georgia Technical College.
During the “Sugar Rush,” local chefs will craft their finest desserts and paid ticket holders will vote for their favorite dessert.
Winners in multiple categories will receive cash prizes.
The tasting fee will be at $10 per person or $15 per couple. Additional votes can be purchased for $5 each.
Proceeds from the “Sugar Rush” will benefit the Toccoa-Stephens County Boys’ and Girls’ Club.
Tickets can be purchased from the Boys’ and Girls’ Club on Whitman Street, along with a number of other locations.
In addition to the tasty desserts, University of Georgia wide receive Chris Conley is scheduled to appear at the event as well.
