Local officials welcome a tattoo shop to downtown Toccoa.

The Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting for Straight to the Point Tattoo and Body Piercing on Thursday.

Owner James Hollifield said that he is excited to have his shop in downtown Toccoa.

“We wanted to show the community that there is an artistic side to tattooing,” said Hollifield. “It is not a shadowy business. Not everybody wants to hide from it. That is the persona that Toccoa had for tattoo shops. By being downtown, the plan is to bring it out of that.”

Hollifield said that he is also trying to be very involved in the community through a number of different organizations.

Straight to the Point is located on Doyle Street in downtown Toccoa.

It is open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 1 to 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 1 to 11 p.m.

The phone number for Straight to the Point is 706-391-1122.
