Stephens Co. Schools Honor Retirees

May 17, 2013

The Stephens County School System honors its retiring employees.

The system held a reception Thursday at Stephens County High School for this year’s retirees.

Stephens County School Superintendent Sherrie Whiten said they are just a fantastic group of individuals.

“We hate to see them go,” said Whiten. “One thing they all talked about was how much they are going to miss the kids, but they have just done a tremendous job. We see their passion and how much they are going to miss their school families, so we are proud for them that they are starting a new chapter in their lives, but we are also really reluctant to let them go.”

The 17 individuals honored at this year’s retirees’ reception accounted for 373 years of service in the Stephens County School System.
