Meanwhile, in the midst of its budget issues, the Stephens County School System is again looking for a new finance director.
Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey says that Misty Cleveland has resigned from the position and the Board of Education accepted that resignation Tuesday.
Dorsey said he plans to begin the search for a new finance director immediately.
“We are certainly going to do a very detailed search, looking for someone that has good school governance experience in the finance department,” said Dorsey.
The resignation is effective next month.
Dorsey went on to say that as superintendent he is going to do his best to find the person that can help lead the school system through its current financial situation.
Cleveland had served as the school system’s finance director since October 2013.
She was the third different finance director for the school system in 2013.
Annah Dodge resigned suddenly from the job in Feburary.
Justin Beecher was then hired to fill the role in March, but he resigned in October, prior to Cleveland taking over.
