The American Cancer Society is getting ready to start up another Relay for Life campaign in Stephens County.
This year’s Relay for Life Kick-off Event is scheduled for Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church on Tugalo Street in downtown Toccoa.
American Cancer Society Stephens County Community Manager Tracey Long said that everyone is invited to Thursday’s kick-off to have fun and learn more about Relay for Life.
“We will have games, food, entertainment, awards for past participants and teams and anyone that would like to come out is absolutely welcome,” said Long.
This year’s Honorary Chair will also share their story, said Long.
Long also said that the Kick-off Event is a great way for people who are interested in learning more about how to get involved in Relay for Life to find out that information
“We will have everything they need and we will help them set up a team or just get involved as an individual,” said Long. “One person can make a difference.”
Long said that this year’s Relay for Life is scheduled for Friday, May 16 in downtown Toccoa.
