Stephens Co. Man Indicted in Va. Death

Reports indicate that a Stephens County man has been officially indicted in the death of his former father-in-law in Virginia.

The Franklin News Post reports that Daniel Percy Arnot was indicted on a first-degree murder charge and 12 other charges related to the death of his former father-in-law, 66-year-old Brian Edward Foy, and several thefts in Franklin County, Virginia.

According to the Franklin News Post report, Virginia authorities say that four other Georgia residents, 25-year-old Carrie Eujenna Ramey, 25-year-old Michael Anthony Edwards, 27-year-old Jessica Lynn Jarrard, and 29-year-old David Allen Byargeon, were also indicted in connection with the murder or thefts committed in Franklin County, Virginia prior to the murder.

Foy was found shot to death in the living room of his residence in Moneta, Virginia on May 2.

Arnot, along with Ramey and Edwards, who are both from Toccoa, were arrested the next day in Stephens County.

Arnot and Ramey were arrested at the Host Inn, while Edwards was arrested separately at a residence off Sautee Street.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said in May that the three burglarized Foy’s home after killing him as part of a series of burglaries in that area.
