Stephens Co. Land Use Ordinance Proposal Review Continues

With county commissioners expected to vote on a proposed Stephens County Land Use Ordinance on Tuesday, the public still has time to review the ordinance, ask questions, and offer comments.

County staff and/or Land Use Regulation Committee members will be available to review the proposed ordinance with the public tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. in the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.

Also, the ordinance can be reviewed during business hours at the historic Courthouse or at the Stephens County Tax Assessor’s Office from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday.

The proposed ordinance is also available online at the county’s website, www.stephenscountyga.com.

Stephens County Commissioners took public comments on the ordinance at the first reading on February 25.

The final vote is expected during the commission’s next meeting, which starts at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
