Stephens County Hospital announces its Employee of the Year.
The hospital named Brooke Smith, LPN, 2013 Employee of the Year at the hospital’s annual Service Awards Banquet, which was held recently.
Smith currently works as a nurse at the Clary Care and Wilkinson Centers.
She joined Stephens County Hospital in 2000 when she began attending the hospital-based nursing assistant certification class.
Upon completion of the class, she was assigned as a Personal Care Assistant at the Wilkinson Center.
Then in 2009, Smith was promoted to the position of Personal Care Team Leader and graduated from North Georgia Technical College’s LPN program.
She is currently attending the RN program at Piedmont College.
Stephens County Hospital Personal Care Homes Director Hayley Knight said that the residents and their families absolutely love Smith and are always complimentary of the care and compassion she shows.
Knight went on to say that Smith is not only a great employee, but a good, kind-hearted person.
Meanwhile, Stephens County Hospital Administrator Ed Gambrell said that Smith is an asset to the personal care centers who truly exemplifies the mission of Stephens County Hospital.
Gambrell added that it is a pleasure to recognize her for her dedication to the hospital’s residents and for providing exceptional care and unwavering compassion.
