The annual Relay for Life took place Friday night in downtown Toccoa.
Teams representing businesses, schools, and organizations throughout the county gathered on downtown to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Relay included food, games, and entertainment, along with the annual Luminaires’ ceremony and Survivor lap.
Stephens County Honorary Relay Chair Dwain Dickinson kicked off this year’s Relay, speaking to those in attendance.
He told those in attendance to not to give up in the face of cancer and to be strong and courageous.
Money raised through Relay benefits a number of American Cancer Society programs.
Among other things, that money goes towards cancer research, helping people pay for treatments and prescriptions, and helping transport people to treatments.
