Stephens Co. Grand Jury Issues Indictments

A Stephens County grand jury has indicted three men charged with stealing from a local pawn shop earlier this year.

True bills of indictment were handed down on a charge of Theft by Taking against Danny Lee Henson and Cory Antonio Hilton, both of Toccoa, and Matthew Newman Snyder, address unknown, by the grand jury last week.

Henson was also indicted on a charge of Possession of a Firearm by First Offender Probationer.

The three are charged with stealing firearms from a Toccoa pawn shop on March 10.

Meanwhile, two other individuals were indicted last week by the grand jury on burglary and related charges in connection to a May burglary.

Octavious Jermaine Campbell of Toccoa and Tara Lauren Wikle of Demorest were each indicted on a charge of Burglary in the First Degree.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley says that two rifles and some household electronics were taken from a Cheek Smith Road residence sometime on May 11 or 12.

Campbell was also indicted in connection to this on charges of Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, Obstruction of an Officer, and Driving While License Suspended. Wikle was also indicted on two counts of Giving False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer.

Also indicted last week was Shawn Demarcus Hardman of Toccoa on one count of Aggravated Assault.

Hardman is alleged to have attacked an individual on June 14 with a pocket knife.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, it was a domestic incident between stepbrothers that resulted in the victim suffering several stab wounds and lacerations after the fight escalated.

As a whole last week, the Stephens County grand jury issued true bills of indictment against a total of 22 individuals.
