Stephens Co. Fireworks Display Set for Tonight if Weather Cooperates

July 3, 2013

Stephens County will hope for clear skies tonight in order to hold the county’s annual Community Fireworks Show.

The annual display will again take place at the Stephens County Recreation Department on Rose Lane in Toccoa.

Stephens County Recreation Department Director Richard Adams said the show itself is set to start once it gets dark enough.

Adams said however people should come early to get a good spot.

“All you need to do is bring your lawn chairs and your family,” said Adams. “We will not have vendors, but we will have concessions open. This is an evening for the citizens of this community to come out and enjoy an old-fashioned 4th of July fireworks.”

The sponsor for this year’s show is again Jerry White’s Pharmacy.

Adams said he appreciates their support again this year.

“To put on a good show, you have to have a good sponsor and they have really stepped up,” said Adams.

AM 630 WNEG will also be on hand tonight broadcasting live reports from the Recreation Department leading up to the fireworks.

Then, AM 630 WNEG will air the same patriotic music that is being played during the fireworks show.
