Stephens Co. Commission Set To Meet Today

Stephens County Commissioners are scheduled to meet this morning for their first regularly scheduled meeting in about a month.

Today’s Stephens County Commission meeting is set to start at 8:30 a.m. today at the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.

Commissioners did not have their last meeting two weeks ago due to winter weather.

Because of that, items from that meeting’s agenda are now on the docket for later today.

Items on today’s Stephens County Commission meeting agenda include an update from Stephens County Development Authority Executive Director Tim Martin, a series of budget amendments, and consideration of a payment in relation to landfill closure.

County commissioners will start at 8:30 a.m. with a work session to discuss the items on the meeting agenda.

The business meeting to vote on agenda items will begin immediately after the work session ends.

Today’s Stephens County Commission meeting also allows time for public comment.
