Stephens County Commissioners will meet this morning for a regularly scheduled meeting.
The county commission will hold its first monthly meeting for February today at 8:30 a.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the historic courthouse in downtown Toccoa.
Last month, county commissioners voted to change their meeting times for 2013. Starting this month, Stephens County Commissioners will meet on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The changes were made to accommodate the schedules of all five commissioners.
This morning, commissioners will first hold a work session on the agenda items. The business meeting, where commissioners vote on the agenda items, immediately follows the work session.
On the agenda for this morning’s meeting of the Stephens County Commission, the board will consider a motion to adopt permitting and inspection fees of body art establishments and operators as requested by the Stephens County Board of Health.
Also, county commissioners will consider adopting a resolution in support of allowing SPLOST revenues to be used for maintenance and operation of facilities formerly or currently built with SPLOST revenues and borrowing of funds from SPLOST on a short-term basis.
Other items on the county commission’s agenda today include consideration of a change order related to the landfill closure agreement and consideration of a variance request from Stephens County Hospital for its new wound care center.
