Stephens County Commissioners will gather for a meeting this morning.

The county commission will hold its first regularly scheduled business meeting and work session for October at 8:30 a.m. today.

Today’s county commission meeting takes place in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.

County commissioners will begin with a work session to discuss items on the agenda for the business meeting.

The business meeting, where commissioners vote on agenda items, will begin immediately after the conclusion of the work session.

Items on today’s meeting agenda include consideration of a motion to enter into a Probation Case Management System agreement with the Judicial Alternatives of Georgia for the Probation Office, consideration of a motion to cover a $2,000 pro rata share of audit expenses for the Joint Development Authority of Stephens, Franklin, and Hart counties for Fiscal Year 2014, and consideration of a motion to enter into a mutual aid agreement with the Georgia Coroner’s Association.

Stephens County Commissioners are also expected to consider approval of plats at the Currahee Club, consider approval of a series of Fiscal Year 2014 budget amendments, and consider a variance request.

Today’s Stephens County Commission meeting agenda also allows time for public comment.
