Stephens County Commissioners are scheduled to talk public works and roads during their regularly scheduled meeting and work session this morning.
County commissioners are set to meet at 8:30 a.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.
During the meeting, county commissioners are scheduled to consider the awarding of the county’s Local Maintenance and Improvement, or LMIG, paving bid during the meeting. LMIG is a state-funded road program.
Meanwhile, the county commission will also consider a bid for a camera system for the public works department.
Stephens County Commissioners are also scheduled to hear from the county’s Public Works Director, Tim Mitchem, with an update on his department.
Other listed items on the agenda include consideration of a motion regarding the Georgia Department of Human Services’ Family and Children Services county budget for Fiscal Year 2014 and consideration of a motion to approve a contract for assisting the countyAssessor’s Office with the discovery of cellular towers and cellular equipment.
The agenda also includes time for public comment.
The county commission will start with a work session to discuss the agenda items at 8:30 a.m.
Immediately following the work session, county commissioners will move into their business meeting to vote on agenda items.
