Stephens Co. Commission Meeting Today

Stephens County Commissioners will meet this morning for a regularly scheduled meeting.

The meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. and take place in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.

First, Stephens County Commissioners will hold two public hearings.

According to the agenda, the public hearings are for first readings of an amended timber harvesting ordinance and a new alcohol license.

Commissioners will then have a work session to discuss items on the business meeting agenda.

The business meeting to vote on the agenda items will follow immediately after the meeting.

One of the items on today’s agenda is consideration of a motion to award engineering and traffic investigation report oversight services to JM Smith Engineering up to but not exceeding $250 per report for each road to be added to the county’s speed detection device permit.

Today’s Stephens County Commission meeting is open to the public.
