Stephens Co. Commission Meeting Today

Stephens County Commissioners will meet later today for their second regularly scheduled meeting in the month of September.

Today’s county commission meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse.

County commissioners will start with a work session to discuss items on today’s business meeting agenda.

There are only two items on the agenda for today’s business meeting.

First, Stephens County Commissioners will consider a motion to authorize a fire protection services agreement for Tates Creek Fire Department in Stephens County and Banks County.

Second, the county commission is expected to consider authorizing EMA Director Denny Folsom to proceed with a hazard mitigation grant application.

The business meeting, where commissioners will act on agenda items as needed, will immediately follow the end of the work session.

Today’s Stephens County Commission meeting also allows time for public comment.
