Stephens Co. Commission Meeting Today

Stephens County Commissioners will meet later today for a regularly scheduled meeting.

The county commission meets at 5:30 p.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.

County commissioners will start their meeting with a work session to discuss items that are on the business meeting agenda.

The business meeting to vote on agenda items as needed will follow immediately after the conclusion of the work session.

Items on the agenda for today’s meeting include a report on the county’s Fiscal Year 2014 audit and a report from Stephens County Development Authority Executive Director Tim Martin.

Also, county commissioners are expected to consider the jail inmate housing agreement between the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and the city of Toccoa.

City commissioners approved that same agreement earlier this month.

Today’s Stephens County Commission meeting also allows time for public comment.
