Stephens Co. Commission Meeting Today

Stephens County Commissioners will start their calendar year with their first meeting of 2015 this morning.

The county commission is scheduled to meet today at 8:30 a.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.

County commissioners will begin with a work session to discuss items on today’s business meeting agenda.

Items on today’s agenda include the selection of a commission chair and vice-chair for the 2015 calendar year.

Also, county commissioners are scheduled to take care of a number of regular appointments and business items that are handled at the beginning of each calendar year.

Other items on the business meeting agenda for today include consideration of an amendment to the county’s emergency door to door peddlers and solicitors ordinance, consideration of a work detail agreement with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, consideration of an agreement with the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission for digital photography, and consideration of an appointment to fill an unexpired term on the Stephens County Tax Assessors’ Board.
