Stephens County Commissioners will meet for a regularly scheduled meeting this morning.
The county commission is scheduled to meet beginning at 8:30 a.m. today in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.
Commissioners will begin their meeting with a public hearing for consideration of a proposed body art code and regulations ordinance. This ordinance is related to a series of permitting and inspection fees for body art establishments and operators in the county requested by the Stephens County Board of Health and approved by the county commission last month.
Following the public hearing, commissioners will move into a work session on the agenda items.
The agenda includes a first reading of that proposed ordinance.
Other items on the agenda include consideration of a motion to purchase a van for use by the inmate work crew approved at the commission’s last meeting and the purchase of a cat spreader truck.
After commissioners hold their work session, they will then move into their business meeting, where they vote on agenda items.
The public hearing, work session, and business meeting are all open to the public.
