Stephens Co. Commission Meeting This Morning

A host of transportation topics are on the agenda this morning for the Stephens County Board of Commissioners.

County commissioners will meet at 8:30 a.m. today at the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa for a regularly scheduled meeting.

On today’s meeting agenda, Stephens County Commissioners are scheduled to consider a motion to award the LMIG off-system safety improvements project for the installation of signs and markings on 35 roads. Also, county commissioners will consider adopting a sign management plan, authorizing a request letter for the 2017 LMIG, or Local Maintenance Improvement Grant, program from the state, and a motion to approve the Georgia DOT Speed Zone Ordinance for Stephens County due to the re-alignment of State Route 17.

The Stephens County Commission is also expected to consider a number of appointments at today’s meeting.

Stephens County Commissioners will start with a work session to discuss the items on the business meeting agenda.

Then following the work session, the county commission will hold the business meeting to vote on agenda items.

This morning’s Stephens County Board of Commissioners meeting is open to the public.
