Stephens County Commissioners are expected to vote this morning on whether to adopt a land use ordinance for the county.
County Commissioners will meet starting at 8:30 a.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.
First, the commission will hold a second public hearing to solicit comments on the proposed land use ordinance.
Commissioners held a first public hearing on the proposed ordinance at their last meeting on February 25.
The commission will discuss the agenda items during a work session period that will immediately follow the public hearing.
The business meeting to vote on the land use ordinance and other agenda items will be immediately after the end of the work session.
If commissioners vote to adopt the land use ordinance, they will then have to then vote to adopt a zoning map for the county and appoint five members to a county planning commission.
This morning’s Stephens County Commission meeting also allows time for public comment on general items.
