Stephens Co. BOE Office Makes Move

The Stephens County Board of Education said that it will re-open its offices today at its new location.

Both the main BOE offices and Central Records will now be open at the new location, 191 Big A School Road, which is the old Big A Elementary School.

School system officials made the announcement on the school system’s Facebook page.

The old Big A School Building was most recently the home of Mountain Education Charter High School’s Toccoa location.

However, Mountain Ed has moved out to the old Eastanollee Elementary School starting this Fall.

Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey says there are benefits to the move, such as being in a newer building with better insulation that is more energy-efficient.

While the offices are moving, the school board will continue meeting at the old Administrative Offices on Mize Road through the end of December, before moving its meetings to the old Big A School starting in January.
