The Stephens County Board of Education nominates its officers for 2013.
At its meeting Tuesday, the Board unanimously appointed Jerry Steele to remain as Board of Education Chairman for another year.
Meanwhile, the Board of Education selected Dr. Elizabeth Pinkerton to serve as Board Vice-Chair for 2013. She replaces Curtis Waters as Vice-Chair. Waters was not re-elected to the Board of Education.
The Board of Education also unanimously voted to re-appoint Harben, Hartley, and Hawkins of Gainesville to once again serve as the attorney for the Board of Education in 2013.
In other action during Tuesday’s meeting, the Board of Education set its meeting dates and times for the year ahead.
The Board unanimously approved a regular meeting schedule for the upcoming year.
Under that schedule, meetings for the next 12 months, including January 2014, will take place on the third Tuesday of the month beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Stephens County School System Administrative Office on Mize Road.
The meetings will continue to start at 5:30 p.m. with the opportunity for public comment at the start of the meeting. If there is no public comment, the Board will convene into its regular meeting.
Work sessions will be announced as called meetings as needed, according to school officials.
