The Stephens County Board of Education approves one final spending resolution.
Tuesday, the board unanimously approved its September spending resolution.
The spending resolutions allow the school system to operate while the Board finalizes its budget for the fiscal year that started back on July 1.
Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey has stated that the school system can only use spending resolutions through the month of September.
The Board of Education is expected to formally approve the Fiscal Year 2015 budget next month.
It approved the tentative budget earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Stephens County Board of Education member David Fricks asked Dorsey and staff during Tuesday’s meeting to provide monthly updates to the Board on progress made on addressing findings in the school system’s Fiscal Year 2013 audit released earlier this month.
Dorsey said that is something staff would provide for the board.
Dorsey also reported to the board during Tuesday’s meeting that the first week of school had gone well in Stephens County, with no major incidents to report.
