The Stephens County Board of Education amends its school calendar to account for nine calendar reduction days.
Stephens County School Board members approved the calendar unanimously at its called meeting on Friday.
The changes are as follows:
August 4 — NO LONGER A PRE-PLANNING DAY
October 10 — NOW A STUDENT AND STAFF HOLIDAY
January 5 — NOW A STUDENT AND STAFF HOLIDAY
March 16 and 17 — NOW STUDENT AND STAFF HOLIDAYS (also inclement weather recovery days)
April 3 — NOW A STUDENT AND STAFF HOLIDAY
May 1 — NOW A STUDENT AND STAFF HOLIDAY (also inclement weather recovery day)
May 28 and 29 — NO LONGER POST-PLANNING DAYS
The amended calendar has 181 staff days and 174 student days.
174 student days is four less than was in the original 2014-2015 school calendar, but is the same number of student days that were built into last year’s calendar.
