St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital Adds Two New Managers

St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia has named new managers to oversee the hospital’s departments of surgical services and rehabilitation.
Christine Davis, RN, BSN, is now manager of surgical services.
Davis grew up in Hart County and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C.
She has been a surgical nurse since 2004.
Sacred Heart Hospital Spokesman Mark Ralston said Davis will oversee a number of areas.
“She will be managing all of the things that have to be done in the hospital to make surgeries happen,” Ralston said. “That means scheduling, maintaining the equipment, staffing the unit, etc. It’s a big job.”
Additionally, Reid Lawson, DPT, is now manager of Rehabilitation Services at Sacred Heart.
The department works with inpatients and outpatient to improve quality of life by reducing pain and maximizing ability to function following physical injuries, accidents, illness and stroke.
Lawson has 26 years of physical therapy experience in rural hospitals.
In 2011, he returned to school to earn his doctor’s degree in physical therapy from Utica College.
Ralston said Lawson comes to Sacred Heart Hospital from Jesup, Ga., where he has served as director of rehabilitation at Wayne Memorial Hospital for the past 14 years.
“His job will be to supervise and manage the rehabilitaiton services unit. That means keeping the staff scheduled correctly and overseeing all of the operations in our physical therapy, occupational therapy and our speech therapy programs,” Ralston explained.
A member of state and national professional organizations, Lawson currently serves on the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy.
In a prepared press release, Interim president of St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital Jeff English said by promoting Davis and bringing Lawson to the community, St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital continues to raise the bar for the quality and professionalism.
