SR 17 Weekend Accident Sends Two To Hospital With Minor Injuries

A weekend accident on Georgia Highway 17 results in two injuries.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the three-vehicle accident took place on Highway 17 in Franklin County, near the Stephens County line.

The GSP said a Lexus was traveling northbound on Highway 17 and was stopped, anticipating a left turn into a private drive.

Troopers said a Toyota Corolla approached from the rear, traveling northbound, and hit the Lexus in the rear.

They went on to say that made the Lexus go into the southbound lane where it was struck by a tractor trailer headed southbound on Highway 17.

According to the GSP, the drivers of the Toyota and the Lexus both sustained minor injuries during the collision.

The driver of the Toyota was transported to Stephens County Hospital and the driver of the Lexus was transported to Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center.
