A meeting later today will detail the proposed SPLOST VI to the public.
A town hall meeting is taking place today at 5:30 p.m. at the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.
A group called the “Stephens County Friends of SPLOST VI” Committee is presenting the town hall meeting today.
According to an announcement about the meeting, the presentation will include an overview of the one-cent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, a review of projects completed as a part of the current SPLOST, SPLOST V, and a review of the proposed SPLOST VI projects.
There will be a question and review period immediately following the presentation.
Stephens County voters are casting ballots this November on whether or not to continue the SPLOST once the current one expires next year.
Early voting for that SPLOST VI special election is underway and continues through this week at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office, located in the Stephens County Government Building in downtown Toccoa.
Voters can also cast ballots on Election Day itself on Tuesday, November 5.
